Our changing climate, dependency on fossil resources and the demographic development are pushing our planet and mankind towards new challenges. A paradigm shift to implement a sustainable economy and to ensure the sensible use of our resources seems to be long overdue. The future perspective - beginning today – requires us to embrace and implement all of our growing knowledge.
ZeitRäume (TimeSpaces) sees itself as an interdisciplinary art project that, due to its flexible concept, is capable of playing a part in varying surroundings and of addressing locally relevant questions.
With its independent and often times unorthodox approach, contemporary art seems all but predestined to introduce fertile new communication strategies for scientists and technologists into a discourse independent of special interests. Since art will provide people with tangible identification patterns and operates in intangible spaces, it is as such better suited than any other genre to making multifaceted and complex topics like local traditions and values, the economics of resources or a Zeitgeist focused on consumption accessible to the general public, and to metaphorically raise a painful subject and point out new directions.

4 ELEMENTS +1
In four evenings, introduced by an artistic statement, experts from different disciplines discuss issues that affect our future life.
The four elements - as factual, metaphorical, philosophical or
spiritual factor - serve as a framework for the word, image and sound
events. Beyond the traditional doctrine and alchemical ideas
they are in this context an intellectual vehicle for environmental and
socio-political, scientific and cultural future aspects.
